Developing sustainable building systems for moderating the impact of local climate conditions on the built environment is a key consideration for contemporary architects. Students learn about the application of environmental systems through visiting contemporary precedents and designing buildings that rely on  a variety of strategies including double skin facades, passive heating and cooling, green roofs and green facades, daylighting, and energy-generating materials.
